Aston Villa Foundation is the official charity of Aston Villa Football Club, using the club as a force for good. The Youth Engagement team sits within the Foundation's Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing division, supporting young people across Birmingham and the surrounding areas to raise their aspirations and steer away from negative influences.
About the Role
The Foundation is looking for a Youth Engagement Mentor to deliver and develop school-based youth engagement provision across Premier League programmes and the wider Youth Engagement Offer. You'll work directly with marginalised and at-risk young people with complex needs, raising their aspirations through mentoring and positive engagement.
What You'll Do
Deliver high-quality, school-based youth engagement sessions across Premier League and wider programmes
Design and lead educational interventions for young people
Mentor marginalised and at-risk young people with complex needs
Build strong working relationships with young people, families, schools, and community partners
What They're Looking For
Strong communication and active listening skills, with the ability to build trust and inspire others
Experience designing and delivering educational interventions for young people
A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 Diploma in Effective Mentoring (or equivalent)
Excellent interpersonal skills across a wide range of stakeholders
Practical Details
Location: Villa Park, with travel to community sessions
Hours: 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends
Contract: Fixed-term, 2 years
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum, depending on experience
