Aston Villa Foundation is the official charity of Aston Villa Football Club, using the club as a force for good. The Youth Engagement team sits within the Foundation's Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing division, supporting young people across Birmingham and the surrounding areas to raise their aspirations and steer away from negative influences.
About the Role
The Foundation is looking for a Youth Engagement Officer to lead targeted intervention programmes for children and young people. The role combines sporting and non-sporting activity design with educational workshops and mentoring support for vulnerable and at-risk young people, delivered both in groups and one-to-one.
What You'll Do
Plan and deliver intervention programmes that build confidence, resilience, and positive mindsets
Design and lead educational workshops tackling key issues affecting young people
Provide ongoing mentoring and tailored support for vulnerable and at-risk participants
Build strong working relationships with young people, families, schools, and community partners
What They're Looking For
Strong communication and active listening skills, with the ability to build trust and inspire others
Experience designing and delivering sport and educational interventions for young people
A relevant qualification, such as an NGB Level 2 in Sport
Excellent interpersonal skills across a wide range of stakeholders
Practical Details
Location: Villa Park, with travel to community sessions
Hours: 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends
Contract: Fixed-term, 2 years
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum, depending on experience
