About the Organisation
Colchester United Community Foundation (CUCF) is the official charity of Colchester United Football Club (registered charity 1159381). Every week it runs participation, health and inclusion, and education programmes for around 10,000 children, young people and adults across the region. It also manages the Shrub End Community & Sports Centre.

About the Role
Colchester United Community Foundation is looking for a Health & Inclusion Officer to join its Community Team. The role is mainly about delivery. The Officer mentors students and participants in schools and the community, creates resources for mentors to use, and supports the Foundation's health and inclusion programmes.

This is a full-time, permanent post of 32 to 40 hours a week. It is based at the Shrub End Community & Sports Centre, with delivery across schools and community facilities in North Essex.

What You'll Do
Develop
- Create high-quality, engaging mentoring resources for use in sessions
- Build strong relationships with students

Deliver
- Keep safeguarding central to daily work: safe environments, safe people, safe behaviours
- Deliver one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions
- Run workshops in schools and community settings

Support
- Maintain relationships with schools, community organisations and partners
- Help plan and deliver events
- Look for funding and resource opportunities

Collaborate
- Work with colleagues to improve practice and impact
- Work with schools on a joined-up approach
- Help set up working groups for events and programmes

Evaluate
- Track the impact of mentoring and participants' outcomes
- Give feedback to schools and partners

What They're Looking For
Essential
- A Youth Mental Health First Aider qualification, or willingness to complete one
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills
- A mentoring or similar qualification
- Experience of project coordination and/or event planning
- Experience of youth work in education or community settings
- Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check
Desirable
- Experience of working with young people in areas of high deprivation
- FA Introduction to Coaching, FA Safeguarding Children and FA First Aid certificates
- An NGB coaching qualification
- A full UK driving licence

Practical Details
Salary: £26,500 – £28,500
Hours: 32 – 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, full time
Location: Shrub End Community & Sports Centre, Colchester CO2 9BG, with delivery across North Essex

Interviews: Week commencing 19 Oct 2026 (proposed start December 2026 or January 2027)
