MAN v FAT runs year-round men's weight loss and wellbeing communities through Football and Rugby clubs, exclusively designed for men with a BMI of 27.5 and above. Launched in 2016, the programme is endorsed and supported by the FA and Sport England, with players losing hundreds of thousands of lbs across more than 160 clubs UK-wide. MAN v FAT is delivered by Thrive Tribe, a healthy lifestyle service provider.

About the Role

MAN v FAT is looking for a dedicated Club Referee to officiate games on a weekly basis at Havant RFC, Hooks Lane Ground, Monday 7–8pm. The role suits someone who shares a passion for rugby and for supporting men in making health and lifestyle improvements. MAN v FAT Rugby follows the Touch format, and excellent communication skills along with an in-depth knowledge of the laws of the game are essential.

What You'll Do

Enforce the Laws of the Game within the spirit of MAN v FAT Rugby, including applying advantage where appropriate
Act as timekeeper and control the flow of the game
Keep a record of the match, including a game report covering any disciplinary action or incidents
Take disciplinary action against players guilty of cautionable or sending-off offences, including timed suspensions
Stop or suspend play in response to injuries, ensuring injured players are safely removed from the playing area
Ensure the ball and player equipment meet requirements, and that no unauthorised persons enter the playing area
Report match scores to the club coach at the end of the session

What They're Looking For

Strong knowledge of the laws of the game and confidence applying them
Excellent communication skills
Comfortable holding authority and making final decisions during play
Available Monday evenings, 7–8pm

Practical Details

Location: Havant RFC, Hooks Lane Ground, Fraser Road, Havant, Hampshire
Hours: Sessional, 1 hour per week (Monday 7–8pm), with potential to expand as the club grows
Salary: Competitive hourly rate
