The Northampton Town Community Trust are looking to recruit a new Chief Executive Officer.
After a hugely successful nine years in the role, current Chief Executive Officer Phill Smith is moving on to pastures new this autumn, and the Community Trust are now undertaking a recruitment process. During his tenure, Phill has overseen a period of unprecedented growth, expanding from a team of just six staff to a workforce of more than 80 people, while increasing its reach and impact across Northamptonshire.
Chair of the Northampton Town Community Trust, Scott Desborough said:
"On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to thank Phill for his exceptional leadership, commitment and vision over the past nine years. His passion for improving lives through the power of football has helped shape the Trust into the respected organisation it is today.
"His contribution to Northamptonshire and to the communities we serve has been immense, and while we are naturally sorry to see him leave, we are excited for him as he embarks on his next chapter. We wish Phill every success for the future and thank him for everything he has achieved."
"Having served as Chair of the Trust for more than seven years, I have had the privilege of seeing the organisation grow significantly. During this time, we have quadrupled our annual turnover, broadened our reach across Northamptonshire and beyond and been recognised with numerous local, national and international awards.
"We are now looking for an exceptional leader to take the Trust into its next chapter."
Reflecting on his time with the Trust, Phill Smith added:
"Leading the Northampton Town Community Trust has been the greatest privilege of my career. Over the past nine years, I've had the opportunity to work alongside an incredible, passionate team of staff, trustees, volunteers, partners and the football club to make a genuine difference to people's lives across Northamptonshire.
"I'm immensely proud of everything we've achieved together. From growing the organisation and expanding our programmes to supporting thousands of people across Northamptonshire, we've demonstrated the incredible difference a football club and its charity can make when they are truly at the heart of their community. To have been part of the Trust's journey over the past nine years is something I will always be immensely proud of.
"I would like to thank our staff and Board of Trustees for their fantastic commitment, professionalism and support over many years. The work this team delivers day in, day out is truly outstanding and deserves far greater recognition than it often receives.
"I am also incredibly grateful to everyone at Northampton Town Football Club and to the Club's supporters for their continued encouragement and backing. In particular, I would like to thank Kelvin Thomas and James Whiting for their steadfast support of the town, the Football Club and the Community Trust.
