An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Peterborough United Foundation’s dedicated team as a Volunteer Health & Wellbeing Assistant.

Department: Health and Wellbeing
Location: Peterborough United Foundation, Peterborough
Reporting to: Health and Wellbeing Programme Lead / Health and Wellbeing Manager
Hours: Flexible, agreed in advance (approximately 10 hours per week but negotiable)
Contract Type: Initially Volunteer

About Peterborough United Foundation

Peterborough United Foundation is the charitable arm of Peterborough United Football Club. Through sport, education, health, and community engagement, we work to improve lives and create positive opportunities for people across Peterborough and the surrounding areas.

Our Health and Wellbeing programmes support individuals of all ages to lead healthier, more active, and more connected lives through physical activity, wellbeing initiatives, and community-based interventions.

Role Purpose

The Volunteer Health and Wellbeing Assistant will support the delivery of health and wellbeing activities and events within the local community. Volunteers will help create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for participants while assisting Foundation staff with programme delivery and administration.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in health promotion, community development, sport, wellbeing, public health, or working within the charity sector.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of health and wellbeing sessions, activities, and events.
Welcome participants and help create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Assist with registration, sign-in processes, and participant engagement.
Help set up and pack away equipment and resources.
Support staff in monitoring attendance and collecting feedback.
Encourage participants to engage in activities safely and confidently.
Promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing messages in line with Foundation values.
Assist with community outreach and awareness events.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies.
Act as a positive ambassador for Peterborough United Foundation.

An interest in health, wellbeing, sport, or community development.
Willingness to follow Foundation policies and procedures.
Desirable

Experience volunteering or working with community groups.
Knowledge of health and wellbeing initiatives.
Experience supporting events or activities.
First Aid qualification (not essential).
Understanding of safeguarding principles.
