About the Role
Saints Foundation is looking for a passionate and community-focused Place Based Project Officer to support delivery of its Place Expansion Project. Using the power of the Southampton FC brand and the benefits of physical activity, the role engages local communities to help people become more active, connected and empowered - working within communities to deliver accessible activities and build relationships that create lasting impact.
What You'll Do
Deliver engaging and inclusive sessions within local communities, supporting people of all ages and backgrounds to take part in physical activity and social opportunities
Work alongside the Place Based Coordinator to ensure successful delivery of the project
Build strong relationships with community groups, organisations and residents
Support the development of new partnerships and identify opportunities to engage local people
Plan and deliver a range of targeted and open access sessions
Gather feedback from participants and support the long-term sustainability of the project through community engagement
Work with colleagues and partners to promote the programme and capture its impact across Southampton
What They're Looking For
A passion for making a difference in the community and belief in the power of sport and physical activity to improve lives
Experience working with community organisations and delivering engaging activities to diverse groups
Ability to build positive relationships with participants, partners and stakeholders
A Level 2 Sports Coaching qualification, or equivalent experience, would be beneficial
An understanding of the positive impact physical activity can have on individuals and communities
Applications particularly welcomed from candidates with lived experience of the communities served, or a strong understanding of the local area
Practical Details
Location: St Mary's Stadium
Hours: Full time
Contract: Fixed term until 31 July 2028
Salary: £26,227.50 per annum
Criminal record check: Enhanced, with Children's Barred List
