Active Fusion is recruiting a Senior Education and Community Sports Coach to use sport, physical activity and wider skills development as a tool for positive social change for children and young people across South Yorkshire.
The role
- Salary: £25,000 to £26,000
- 37 hours per week (start and finish times between 7.30am and 7pm, occasional weekends); a part-time role would be considered
- Permanent
- Schools and community venues across South Yorkshire, with the office based in Doncaster
What you will do
- Deliver high-quality, engaging sessions in mainstream primary and secondary schools, SEND settings, alternative provision / PRUs and community programmes
- Deliver on Active Fusion Camps, supporting holiday activity and food programmes outside term time
- Support and, where your experience allows, take ownership of programmes and projects in Inclusion, Employability and Youth Voice
- Support the development and implementation of Youth Voice across programmes and delivery
- Support young people to develop skills for education, employment and life
- Demonstrate the impact of programmes through monitoring, evaluation and case studies
- Maintain good relationships with children, parents, teachers, headteachers, PE leads, community venues and National Governing Bodies of sport
Experience needed
- Leading high-quality sport and physical activity sessions in school, SEND, alternative provision and/or community settings
- Planning and adapting sessions to meet different needs, abilities and experiences
- Building positive relationships with children and young people, including those who need additional support
- Mentoring children and young people to develop their confidence, skills and aspirations
- Programme or project management experience would be an advantage
Qualifications and requirements
- A recognised Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent
- First aid trained
- A clear enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references
- A full driving licence and primary access to a vehicle (travel between venues is required)
