Safe Sport International (SSI) is the independent global body dedicated to preventing violence, abuse and harassment in sport. It is governed by an international Board of Trustees, supported by trustee committees including the Finance and Risk Committee.

As SSI enters a new phase, strengthening its governance and operating model, increasing staffing, diversifying income and preparing to scale its reach and impact, it is seeking a Voluntary Treasurer to provide independent financial oversight, proportionate assurance and strategic financial leadership. This is an unpaid, voluntary role.

What you'll do
- Chair the Finance and Risk Committee and work closely with the Board and CEO
- Help the Board interpret management accounts and monitor income, expenditure, cash flow and reserves
- Review budgets, forecasts and financial assumptions against SSI's strategy
- Advise on financial sustainability, income diversification, organisational growth and major funding decisions
- Oversee the development and monitoring of SSI's risk register
- Advise on reserves, going concern and financial resilience
- Help ensure proportionate financial controls, delegated authorities and policies are in place
- Support compliance with charity and company law, financial reporting and funder obligations
- Plan and chair quarterly Finance and Risk Committee meetings and present recommendations to the Board

The Treasurer will initially attend quarterly Board meetings as an observer and, after a successful initial period, may be considered for appointment as a trustee, subject to SSI's processes.

Who they're looking for
- Strong senior-level financial expertise, ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent), or substantial leadership experience in finance, audit, investment, banking or financial governance
- An understanding of UK charity accounting and reporting
- A financially experienced, values-led person who can provide independent oversight as SSI grows

Details
- Voluntary (unpaid) role
- Time: approximately four to six hours per month, with additional input around budgeting, year-end, audit or independent examination, major funding decisions and risk reviews
- Location: remote (registered office Newbury, Berkshire)
