Active Through Stoke (Stoke City Foundation)
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Active Through Stoke is a community-focused initiative from Stoke City Foundation that promotes physical activity, mental wellbeing and social connection across Stoke-on-Trent, focusing particularly on the wards of Burslem and Blurton. It targets adults experiencing health inequalities and economic hardship, particularly due to unemployment. Activities are designed with the community and led by local role models, with flexible scheduling and low-cost or free access. Alongside sessions such as women's recreational football, seated exercise and A Game of Two Halves (wellbeing workshops followed by recreational football), the programme offers training and qualifications such as coaching, refereeing and first aid, volunteering and employment pathways, links to DWP and local employers, and links to health and wellbeing checks and local health services.
