Coach Core sports coaching apprenticeships
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Coach Core is a charity that uses sport and apprenticeships to help under-represented young people, many not in education, employment or training, start careers. Apprentices are employed for at least 30 hours a week by community sport and physical activity organisations, coaching in schools and communities while studying for a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification such as Community Activator Coach or Community Sport and Health Officer. Inspired by the 2012 Olympics and the 2011 London riots, it began in 2012 as a Royal Foundation programme and became an independent charity in 2020. It now runs place-based programmes across England and national programmes with governing bodies such as England Boxing and England Hockey.
