Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs are the flagship programme of Huddersfield Town Foundation, the official charity of Huddersfield Town AFC. The foundation was set up in 2012 with the mission that every child in Kirklees starts the school day with the nutrition they need to learn, grow and succeed. The clubs give primary school children a healthy breakfast before lessons, tackling food poverty in the local community. The programme began with five schools and has served more than three million meals across 41 local schools. It costs the foundation about GBP 100,000 a year, funded largely through donations and events such as the annual Wear Blue & White Day.

PARTICIPANT VOICE
“"Some of the children who had breakfast at the club today normally have a real problem getting to school on time. Today our Learning Mentor didn't have to ring any of our families to find out why the children were not in school. A fabulous unexpected spin off." - Dora Plant, Headteacher, Ashbrow Infant and Nursery School”
