ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME

Snow-Camp's First Tracks is a 2-day beginner snowsports programme for young people aged 13-21, run at indoor snow centres each July and August. Participants learn to ski or snowboard with qualified instructors and Snow-Camp youth apprentices, take part in life-skills sessions covering independence, responsibility, confidence and self-esteem with support from Wellbeing Managers, and finish with an awards ceremony receiving the accredited Snowsport England or Snowsport Scotland Snow Life Award. Courses run in four regions: London (The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead), North West (The Snow Centre, Manchester), Scotland (Snow Factor and Bearsden Ski and Board Club, Glasgow) and the Midlands (SnowDome, Tamworth). Enrolment is via youth workers and organisations, who can get in touch with the Snow-Camp Programme Manager for their area. Snow-Camp does not publish a participant price for First Tracks; charitable funding, including the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, covers support such as meals and transport for participants.
