HITZ (Newcastle)
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
HITZ is Newcastle Rugby Foundation's award-winning education and employability programme for young people who do not fit mainstream education. Delivered with Newcastle College and New College Durham, it supports students aged 14-24 to work towards Level 1-3 qualifications in Sports Coaching or Uniformed Public Services. Alongside study, participants get personal development support on self-esteem, money management, positive social media use and professional relationships, plus volunteering at rugby clubs and on Newcastle Red Bulls match days. The aim is to change young people's views of education and work and raise their aspirations.
