Offload
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Offload is a free mental fitness programme created by Rugby League Cares, the independent charity of the rugby league community, and launched in 2017. It was originally designed for men to build self-care and resilience, and is presented by current and former professional rugby league players alongside mental health and community sport specialists. Sessions take place in non-clinical, less stigmatising settings such as professional club stadia and use rugby league analogies to talk about stress, anxiety and depression. It is delivered with rugby league club foundations across the north of England, and adapted versions now reach 16-19 year olds and young men at risk of loneliness or being NEET; a separate workplace version is sold to employers.
