Progressions Mentoring (Support Through Sport)
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Individual and group-based mentoring from Support Through Sport's trained progressions mentors, aiming to raise aspirations, remove barriers and enable young people to reach their potential. The service is typically delivered through the charity's sport-based intervention sessions, with flexibility to provide tailored one-to-one support and youth development projects as a standalone offer. Mentors develop foundational, trust-based relationships to identify risk factors and develop a bespoke offer beyond the sporting activity, using an outcomes framework to track progress and set goals. Workshops educate young people on knife crime awareness, drugs and alcohol, emergency first aid and employability. Delivery covers Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Birmingham.
