Project Rugby (Exeter Chiefs Community)
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Project Rugby introduces young people to rugby through fun, inclusive sessions delivered in schools by Exeter Chiefs Community coaches, in partnership with Gallagher UK and the RFU. Schools across the South West can access an initial six weeks of sessions integrated into PE lessons or delivered as an extra-curricular programme, plus teacher coaching through the Gallagher Touchline Academy; no rugby pitch is needed. The programme runs in primary and secondary schools and, since January 2025, in SEN schools across Devon (the secondary offer is designed for ages 14+ and 16+ for those with disabilities). The current programme page reports over 140,000 people introduced to rugby since 2017, and 2025/26 goals of 1,650 new participants across 23 engaged schools. Schools interested in taking part can contact davidarmstrong@exeterchiefs.co.uk or call 01392 890890 (Sandy Park Stadium, Sandy Park Way, Exeter EX2 7NN).
