Project Rugby (Saracens Foundation)
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
A free 6-week rugby programme for local schools and community groups in Essex, Hertfordshire and North London, part of Project Rugby delivered by Premiership Rugby with England Rugby and Gallagher. Participants learn rugby fundamentals each week and then join a festival at a local rugby club or StoneX Stadium. It aims to increase participation among underrepresented groups, including ethnically diverse communities, lower socio-economic backgrounds and disabled people, and to help participants move into local clubs.
WHO THE PROGRAMME SUPPORTS

ACCESSIBILITY
Delivery is to schools and community groups in 6-week blocks. The programme is aimed at young people aged 14-24 (16+ for disabled participants), so no single age filter band is an exact fit; the 12-16 and 17-25 filters on this site are search bands that overlap that range.
SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding policy in place.
PARTICIPANT VOICE
““The pupils have loved the opportunity to visit and play at StoneX Stadium - they get a real buzz out of being at a professional venue and taking pictures on the subs’ bench. The Year 8 boys were delighted to finish third out of ten teams in the week four finals fixture.” - Matt Cannon, PE teacher, Hemel Hempstead School”
