Sport-Based Intervention Sessions (Support Through Sport)
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Evening multi-sport and youth club sessions for young people aged 8-18, delivered on a consistent weekly basis between 4pm and 9pm in strategically identified communities of need across Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Birmingham. Sessions are completely free of charge, open access with formal and informal referral routes, and progressions mentors support young people at the sessions with an internal referral route to the charity's targeted youth mentoring. Combining sport with youth work principles, the programme aims to divert young people away from negative influences such as youth offending, anti-social behaviour, group violence and knife crime, and to build pro-social behaviours. Current session timetables are published on the charity's website.
