Street Soccer free drop-in football and off-pitch support
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Street Soccer runs free, inclusive, trauma-informed football sessions for socially excluded people across Scotland and in London. Players include people affected by adverse mental health, problem substance use, the criminal justice system, homelessness, care experience and the asylum system. Football is described as 30% of the work. The other 70% is off-pitch support tailored to the individual: housing support, specialist mental health provision, food, emotional support and signposting. The organisation is built on lived experience, and many staff have faced the same challenges as the players.
