The Changing Room
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The Changing Room is a free 12-week course that uses football to promote men's mental health and wellbeing, delivered at professional football stadiums across Scotland. It is aimed mainly at men aged 30-64 and gives them access to parts of the stadium they would not normally see, while creating a safe space to talk about what is really going on in their lives. Activities include walking football, stadium tours, pitch-side walks, football quizzes and talks from motivational guest speakers, alongside behavioural change and self-care planning. The programme is led by SAMH with the SPFL Trust and is delivered locally by club community trusts such as Rangers Charity Foundation, Big Hearts (Hearts) and Aberdeen FC Community Trust.

PARTICIPANT VOICE
“"When I came home after the first group I felt different. I think maybe just because you could see other people were struggling as well. It was a wee group of people all there for one another, whether it's on the other end of the phone or a WhatsApp message or whatever. There's always somebody there if you need anything." - Gary, The Changing Room participant”
