Walking Cricket (Somerset Cricket Foundation)
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
Somerset Cricket Foundation runs walking cricket groups across Somerset, with 7 hubs across the county. Walking cricket is the sport played at a slower pace, so it suits people who are older or less physically able but still want to enjoy the game. Everything is walking, including the runs and fielding, a soft ball is used and a match lasts about an hour, played as teams or in pairs. The Foundation describes it as a fun way to keep energy up, make new friends and look after health, improving agility and hand-eye coordination, and is developing a workshop for people who want to set up and safely run their own walking cricket group.
