Youth & Communities: Kicks, mentoring, DIVERT and prison projects
ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
QPR in the Community Trust's Youth & Communities department runs an intervention service for disengaged 11-25-year-olds in West London, using football and the QPR badge to steer young people away from crime and violence. Its strands include free Kicks sessions for 8-18s in four focus areas, one-to-one and group mentoring, the DIVERT custody-suite programme for 18-25s, EFL Trust training-ground traineeships, and two projects in HMP Wormwood Scrubs. The Trust's work sits in the community of Kiyan Prince, the QPR youth player murdered in 2006; Loftus Road now carries his name.
